When I was a teenager, you could always find me at the cosmetics counters and drug stores learning how to cover up my blemishes and horrible acne. I got really good at creating an illusion of “pretty skin” with makeup. In 1998 I decided to go to esthetician school mainly because I wanted to learn how manage the scars that deep cystic acne left on on my skin and I thought that I could help other women do the same. I’m also a dreamer, and didn’t know how, but I knew that I wanted to work in television as a makeup artist. Today I still have occasional flareups and my pores are a bit enlarged. But I pamper my skin when I need to and I wear makeup to conceal my flaws. Because let’s face it, no one is perfect. Here is a “Before” photo of me with no makeup. And a self portrait “After” with makeup, good lighting and a dash of Photoshop. (I am a photographer after all!)
